I have lived in the same house for 16 years. We have had bad storms come through here for 16 years. But in the last month I have been without phone service twice...because of lighting is what I'm told. The 1st time the phone was out for 2 days (Sat.pm to Mon. pm). Windstream has no repair service on Sunday's. Most of the neighborhood was out. Windstream sent out a repairman to fix my neighbor's phone but I wasn't on that repairman's list. My neighbor had her repairman call to see what time the guy was coming out to fix my phone. My husband had just got out of the hospital after having subdual hematoma surgery and Windstream said they would put a priorty on the repair...but they didn't show up until almost noon. Then last night my phone went out again. Another storm came through. I called repair service at 11:45am and was told it would be fixed by 7pm. I left my neighbor's # in case they had to contact me. At 3:30pm my neighbor came over to let me know that repair would not be done until tomorrow by 5pm. I used her cell phone to call repair service and was told by the woman that yes in fact they would not repair my phone until tomorrow. I asked to talk to customer service to get a credit on my bill...and had to sit waiting to talk to them for almost 15 minutes. ( The 1st time it was out 8-20 to 8-22 I got a credit on my bill) This gal told me to hold, she was going to contact repair service too see what was going on. After a few minutes she told me I was scheduled for repair today by 7pm and the repairman was "at the station" fixing the problem. I told her he had not stopped by the house so I won't of known if he was in the area or not. The repairman finally did come up to the house and finally fixed the phone. BUT I have to wonder why I was told I wasn't going to be repaired until tomorrow...and I have to wonder if a storm comes through if I'm going to have to call repair service again? DOES ANYONE AT WINDSTREAM KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING? And is Windstream's equipment in such bad shape it can't handle lighting...maybe it needs to be updated??? I have never had this problem for 16 years...why all of a sudden now? It seems to me WINDSTREAM isn't worried about customer service...all they want is their money every month!!!!
